| Friend, Donald Trump will soon mark his 100th day in office. In those 100 days, we have endured some of the worst assaults on our democracy in 150 years. DOGE, unconstitutional executive orders, flouting federal courts -- we are not seeing a presidency, we are seeing a regime intent on gutting our social safety net, punishing political dissenters, and enriching its billionaire donors. Fortunately, we are also seeing a resistance! On Thursday, April 30, join Courage California as we speak with California Attorney General Rob Bonta, along with community leaders from Fight For Our Health, End Child Poverty California, and others leading grassroots campaigns, as we talk about how we can continue to fight Trump in the next 100 days and beyond.
The Trump administration has made news with its attacks on the Department of Education, birthright citizenship, and federal employees in every agency, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg of what they’ve done in this 100 days. So much has barely gotten noticed, like the order to develop a missile defense system modeled on Israel’s, the order to withhold funding from public schools, and the order to bar the Associated Press from the White House. Fortunately, California has been able to stand up to the Trump administration from Day 1, and we are on the front lines of leading nationwide fights. The California Assembly has authorized $50 million to fight Trump’s illegal orders, and AG Bonta’s office has already launched or joined 10 suits against the administration. Stanford University has joined a growing list of higher education institutions that have said “NO WAY” to Trump’s anti-DEI education orders, and sanctuary cities across the state have held firm in protecting immigrants. But we still have 1360 days of Trump, and we need to be able to withstand a lot more. That’s why we’re gathering on April 30 to talk about what is next in the resistance! And we need you with us.
