Commerce launches site for federally assisted housing prepayment information
Site includes information for landlords, tenants of federally assisted housing
State law requires owners of federally assisted affordable housing provide a one-year notice upon the decision to list properties for prepayment.
This notice must be submitted to the tenants, the local government in which the development resides, and to the state Department of Commerce. Commerce developed a new webpage with resources and instructions for fulfilling this requirement for landlords and property managers to ensure compliance with the requirement. There are also resources for tenants and housing advocates who may be impacted by the sale of a property.
The webpage includes templates and resources for property owners and tenants, as well as information about historical filings of the notices.
