Hi Friends,
President Trump and his Administration are openly defying the Supreme Court.
During an Oval Office meeting with El Salvador President Bukele, he and his top officials made it clear they wouldn't attempt to bring back the man they erroneously deported, even though the Supreme Court had ordered them to do so.
And on the same day, the Trump Administration defied another federal court order to let reporters and photographers from the AP into that same Oval Office meeting.
This is a constitutional crisis. Our governmental system is set up so no one person or group has absolute power. The checks and balances are set in place precisely to avoid the U.S. having a king.
President Trump ignoring laws and defying court orders is one of the greatest threats to our democracy in our nation’s history.
I’ll continue to fight in the Senate for the rule of law and against Trump’s illegal actions .
