Right now, Sudan is facing the world’s largest displacement crisis. Millions have fled. Entire communities are shattered. But the women and girls — especially pregnant women — are paying the highest price.

Over the next three months, 91,000 women are expected to give birth, but with 70–80% of health facilities barely operational or completely destroyed, they face dire challenges in accessing safe, lifesaving care. For too many, pregnancy will end up being a death sentence.

One brave midwife, Hawaa , recently shared a harrowing story: She helped a woman give birth in the back of a car — with no hospital in reach, no support, just fear and pain:

“The hardest case I faced was helping a woman deliver in a car. She had complications, but there was no way to get to the hospital. I’ve cried many times – especially when women can’t reach us to get the care they need.”

With your support, UNFPA is working tirelessly to bring hope amidst the chaos including:

* Providing solar panels to power operating rooms in the dark.
* Deploying mobile teams to reach displaced and distant communities.
* Sending health workers who brave airstrikes to provide safe deliveries, emergency care, and support for survivors of sexual violence.

But this lifesaving work is in jeopardy. UNFPA has experienced significant funding cuts to its humanitarian programmes in Sudan this year, threatening to put these crucial programs on hold.

Can you help fill the funding gap to prevent avoidable suffering and deaths of women and girls in Sudan?

Rush your donation today to help save lives. Every dollar matters. Your generosity could keep mobile clinics on the ground reaching those in need, help deliver babies with emergency birth kits, and keep the doors open at the few remaining healthcare facilities still standing in Sudan.
