I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Scott Petty, and I’m proud to be serving as Political Director for Betty McCollum’s re-election campaign.

I grew up and have spent most of my life in the 4th District, and I have always admired Betty’s steady, principled leadership. I joined her team as a Field Organizer in 2022 and have taken on several roles since then, including Field Director and Deputy Political Director. I’m excited to spend my third election cycle working to re-elect Betty with this incredible team!

Betty’s work doesn’t always grab headlines, but it’s so important. Nobody is more committed to protecting and securing critical funding for programs and agencies that are helping people live their lives and for things like clean drinking water, roads and bridges, and good-paying jobs for our communities. We need to make sure Betty can continue doing this work.

And now, with Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and MAGA Republicans in Congress gutting SNAP, health insurance for low income families and people with disabilities, and other critical programs people depend upon in their everyday life, Betty’s role is more important than ever. As a senior Democratic leader and a member of the influential Appropriations Committee, she’s fighting to hold the line in Washington, D.C. and we need to have her back.

To keep Betty in Congress, we need to build a campaign that reaches people in every corner of the district and we’re getting started early this year. We’ll be walking in parades, setting up booths at local events, training campaign staff, and connecting with voters across the district, online and in-person, to begin building the campaign needed to win in 2026. But none of this is possible without support from people like you.
