This journal will serve as a symbol of your commitment to improving the lives of people affected by Alzheimer's. Every time you use it, I hope you'll think of all the ways you're advancing our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Right now, 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia. It's an escalating global public health crisis, but thanks to generous supporters of the Alzheimer's Association, research advancements continue to give us hope. Treatments that can meaningfully change the course of the disease for some people living with early Alzheimer's have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
While these treatments targeting the underlying biology of Alzheimer's bring hope to many, they are not cures. But there is more progress in the pipeline, and you can help keep the momentum going.
As a special thank-you for your support today, we have a purple journal waiting for you, and I look forward to sending it so that you can carry it with pride, knowing you're making a difference in the fight.
Alzheimer's steals so much — independence, time with family and friends and, ultimately, life. With you in the fight, we'll change the trajectory of this disease so that we all have hope for a future free from Alzheimer's.
Sincerely,
Donna McCullough
Chief Operating Officer
