A vocal minority in Congress is attempting to undermine the U.S.-Israel relationship and block critical security assistance to our ally in every way they can.
Before October 7, Israel’s defense spending was 5.47% of its GDP – the highest of any Western nation, demonstrating its commitment to defending itself by itself.
In the aftermath of Hamas’ horrific attack, Israel’s defense spending rose to 9.29%, and the Jewish state is expected to spend 7.35% spend of its GDP on defense in 2025 as it continues to confront threats from Iran and its terrorist proxies. That is significantly higher than what the United States and any other NATO allied country spends.
American support for Israel, including the annual security assistance appropriated by Congress each year, remains critical to Israel’s continued ability to defend itself against growing regional threats.
In addition to keeping our ally safe, this assistance creates American jobs at home, protects American interests abroad, and promotes global progress.
Cutting American security assistance to Israel now would be detrimental to Israel’s security given the heightened threats the Jewish state has faced since October 7:
To Israel’s north, Hezbollah has an arsenal of more than 150,000 missiles and rockets—some of which are capable of precisely targeting any location in Israel. This February, Hezbollah launched two drones into Israeli airspace, just two days after its leader revealed the terror group is now manufacturing military drones in Lebanon.
To the south, Israel has significantly degraded Hamas’ capabilities since the start of the war, including destroying much of its vast infrastructure of terror tunnels, countless weapons caches and weapons manufacturing sites.
To the northeast, in addition to funding and arming the terrorist proxies surrounding Israel, Iran launched two direct attacks on Israel for the first time in history. These attacks were intended to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible.
And inside Israel, a burst of terrorist attacks on the streets of central and southern Israel killed 14 Israelis in the weeks leading up to Passover. The perpetrators—who carried out the shooting, stabbing and car ramming attacks—were praised by Hamas, who referred to the attacks on civilians as "heroic operations" and called for more such attacks.
This is NOT the moment to weaken the alliance between America and our only stable democratic ally in the Middle East.
Now is the time to accelerate our advocacy, not retreat from it.
Our April deadline is just 9 days away and we are $11,916 short of our goal.
Your renewed gift will help educate members of Congress, mobilize grassroots support for the U.S.-Israel partnership, and make the case for new initiatives that enhance the security of both countries.
