John, last
month, we learned of the “Houthi PC Small Group” chat, where top Trump
officials shared sensitive information about an impending military
operation in Yemen. We learned of this because a reporter was mistakenly
added to the thread.

There was backlash and uproar across the political spectrum. But
ultimately, Republicans in Congress did nothing to demand accountability
or oversight into the sharing of sensitive military information over text
messages. And Trump did nothing to punish his top-ranking officials for
serious national security lapses.

Which is why we cannot be surprised that Signalgate somehow got worse:

According to the New York Times, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared
information about the military strike in Yemen in a different group chat —
this time, one that included his wife and brothers who have absolutely
zero “need to know.”

John, this is
outrageous. This is a fireable offense. In fact, I called for Pete Hegseth
to be fired the first time we learned of Signalgate. Frankly, he should
never have been confirmed in the first place.

Donald Trump has got to get rid of Pete Hegseth — before the week is out.

The willingness of top Trump officials to message in unsecured group chats
about military operations demonstrates both a kind of dangerous
incompetence and arrogance.

They think they’re above the law. They’ve done away with FBI background
checks for top people and standard safety measures to keep our intel out
of the wrong hands.

Conversations that should happen in the Situation Room shouldn’t be
happening on an unsecured group chat.

John, I was
the former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. And it’s hard for
me to capture just how serious a f*ck up this is.

Donald Trump (he used to love firing people on The Apprentice, how about
