John, it’s Maritza, Maxwell’s mom.

I’ve been so proud to watch Maxwell fight tooth and nail to build a better future for our community and the most vulnerable people in this country, first as a young organizer and now, a member of Congress.

But that hasn’t come without challenges. As a mom, it’s really hard to see your child become a target of attacks from far-right billionaires.

And as a retired special education teacher, it’s really hard to see the attacks on our education system – like Trump and Elon dismantling the Education Department.

I’ve seen firsthand how underfunded our schools already were. I’m scared to see how much worse it will get.

But it gives me so much hope to see young people like my son demanding change. And I’m so proud that Maxwell and his team are fighting back for working people everywhere.
