When it comes to Making California Healthy Again
AVFCA is Leading the Charge in Sacramento

We wanted to share some exciting news with you: AVFCA recently sent a powerful letter to Governor Gavin Newsom urging his continued leadership in protecting Californians' health—especially when it comes to our kids, our environment, and our right to informed choice.

In the letter, AVFCA applauded California's dedication to removing toxic dyes and ultra-processed foods from school meals and encouraged Governor Newsom to go even further by and support AVFCA's mission to:

* Advance environmental protections that prevent chemical contamination and harmful geoengineering
* Support medical freedom and bodily autonomy for all Californians
* Empower local control over water fluoridation
* Prioritize clean, whole food access—especially in underserved communities
* Include parents in children's health and education decisions

One bill AVFCA is especially excited about this legislative session is AB 1264, which would remove all ultra-processed foods from school lunches. This is a huge step toward protecting children's health and redefining what it means to nourish students in California. AVFCA met with one of the consultants from the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee last week, and it was so refreshing to hear him genuinely surprised (in a good way!) that this bill is getting strong bipartisan support. After years of being cast in opposition to the dominant political narrative, it’s energizing to now be on the side of everyone —working across party lines for common-sense health protections. This is what real progress looks like.

In fact, AVFCA is currently supporting over 30 health freedom and transparency bills this legislative session, all focused on removing toxics, strengthening parental rights, and ensuring truly informed choice in California. You can check them all out here: [link removed] [[link removed]]
