“Family planning clinics face ruin after White House freezes funds”

I want to make this as clear as I possibly can: The Trump Administration has launched a full-scale attack on reproductive health care.

Let me explain: Just a few weeks ago, the Trump Administration froze millions of dollars in Congressionally-appropriated funding for Title X — a program that has provided critical health care services including birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing for over 50 years.

Today, many Planned Parenthood affiliates that rely on Title X funding have lost access to millions of dollars, impacting care for over one million Americans.

That’s why I’m taking action. I just introduced the Expanding Access to Family Planning Act to safeguard and increase funding for Title X, but I need your help to get it across the finish line. Make no mistake: If the Trump Administration succeeds in permanently gutting Title X, cancers will go undetected, women will lose access to birth control, and families will no longer be able to afford fertility services.

That’s why my bill would guarantee annual funding for Title X, protect providers like Planned Parenthood, and ensure every Kansan, regardless of income, has access to affordable reproductive health care.
