John, it’s Charlie Dingman — Chair of the Maine Democratic Party.

I wanted to drop you a line to give you an update on the state of things here in Maine, because it seems like with Donald Trump allowing unelected billionaires to run our country to serve their own interests, the hits just keep coming. Before I explain, can you chip in just $9 ahead of our Saturday mid-month fundraising deadline?

FIRST: The Trump/Musk regime includes a whole slate of unqualified, extremist cabinet picks, and Senator Susan Collins voted to confirm nearly all of them.

THEN: Those cabinet members in tandem with Trump and Elon Musk have sown seeds of chaos in every facet of our government, and it’s having real consequences here in Maine. Our public school funding and free and reduced lunch programs are in jeopardy. Our farmers' livelihoods are at risk. Critical programs that serve veterans and programs that help low-income families pay for heating and cooling have been slashed.

NOW: We have the chance to fight back and build the resources we need to elect another Democratic governor, strengthen our majorities in the Maine legislature so our Attorney General can keep taking action to resist the worst of the federal regime, flip Susan Collins’ Senate seat and keep Democrats in our US House seats so that we can  move Washington toward more effective government instead of crippling it to let billionaires have their way.
