GLAAD celebrates inaugural Latine Honors in Los AngelesAhead of the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, GLAAD’s Spanish-Language & Latine Media team hosted Latine Honors at Grandmaster Recorders in Hollywood. Comedian Roz Hernandez, who was part of GLAAD’s series Dímelo hosted, the iconic Salina Estitties of "RuPaul's Drag Race" performed and infamous Trussie was our DJ for the evening. Harvey Guillén and Vico Ortiz presented GLAAD Media Award Special Recognitions to The Q Agenda, the all LGBTQ hosted show on LatiNation, and to Amanda, who hosts a television news program in Mexico in drag called LaVerdrag. The event served as both a celebration and a call to action, inspiring guests to use their considerable platforms to reach people who are hesitant to support LGBTQ people and issues. Check out this reel highlighting our nominees, like The Secret of the River, on Netflix, an excellent series that won a GLAAD Media Award this year. Stand With Us for LGBTQ Equality in 2025The danger is mounting with hundreds of anti-LGBTQ legislative bills, a tactic that fuels increased — and sometimes fatal — violence towards LGBTQ people, including bullying, targeting of Pride events, bomb and mass shooting threats, and more. But GLAAD’s 40 years of experience and media advocacy expertise means we’re prepared to face it all. Make a donation to GLAAD to amplify our ability to help us fight misinformation and hate, respond to rapid news, and change our culture toward progress. With your support, GLAAD can look forward to another 40 years of accelerating LGBTQ acceptance.

Your support uplifts Transgender Day of VisibilityTransgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) celebrates the lives and contributions of transgender people, while also drawing attention to the disproportionate levels of poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces compared to cisgender people. GLAAD made the most of TDOV, calling allies to action and shining a light on important trans voices, sharing critical resource guides to journalists covering TDOV, hosting cross-organizational in-person town halls, and moderating collegiate panels. Thanks to supporters like you, GLAAD was also able to have trans stories featured in Cosmopolitan, 19th, NY1, CBS2, and Teen Vogue, while publishing an original piece featuring six interviews with trans people who transitioned between the 1960s and early 00s. Their messages of resilience and hope for the trans community in these difficult times are available to read now.
