John, This is a longer message, but I wanted to share an update with you about our work here at the DNC. And I promise I won't be asking you for money at the end. Since my election as DNC Chair, my philosophy has been to get the DNC out of DC. That means getting into the states to meet with voters, organize Democrats everywhere, and compete in off-year elections. And we’ve already started gaining ground, building momentum, and winning races. As the political landscape continues to shift and the stakes for both families and our democracy grow higher, our organizing program must evolve to meet today’s moment — with new energy, new strategy, and a renewed dedication to the people and communities who make up our coalition. Our new DNC organizing principles will guide every aspect of how we do our work — from how we recruit and train the next generation of organizers, to how we build political power, scale programs, and engage the voters we are asking to stand with us. Shortly after I became DNC Chair, we put many of these principles into practice. We invested early in Wisconsin — one of the earliest electoral investments the DNC has ever made — as well as the congressional special elections in Florida. Look, I believe we organize to win elections to improve lives. We might not win every race today. But if we do our jobs right, if we make bold investments in all parts of the country, we will start turning the tide blue for the long term. We organize to build lasting trust, develop new leadership, and expand the promise of democracy — for everyone, everywhere. So, I’m excited to share that we are officially rolling out our core DNC organizing principles to help us compete everywhere and accomplish two critical goals. First, fight back against the Trump administration. Second, make a compelling case for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Here are the principles:
Trump and his allies continue to put their interests above the interests of the American people. They’re destroying the economy. They’re trying to hijack the courts like in Wisconsin and North Carolina. They're even threatening to deport American citizens. We cannot accept this. So we’re going to speak out, fight back, and organize like our democracy depends on it — because it does. I hope you’ll join us. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I’ll have more updates to share soon. Ken Ken Martin
