Email from Rep. Hudson Meet Richard | How Can I Help You? | Issues | Media Center | Contact me Friends, Spring has finally arrived in our area, but the warmer weather is not the only reason to rejoice. For my family, like many of yours, this time is especially joyous because it’s Easter—a celebration of Jesus Christ defeating death and rising from the grave. Every Easter, I reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for our salvation and how even out of darkness and despair, there is life. The same can be said for our nation. Over the past four years, you, your family, and your community have faced many challenges. From higher prices to border chaos and attacks on your values, you asked for real change. As your representative, I am working tirelessly to deliver. In just the first 100 days of the 119th Congress, I, along with my House Republican colleagues, passed numerous pieces of common-sense legislation that will get our country back on track and make your life better. We passed the Laken Riley Act - the first bill President Trump signed into law. This legislation addresses the crisis that has enfolded at our border by ensuring violent illegal criminals are swiftly detained and deported from our communities. We passed the Protecting American Energy Production Act to restore American energy dominance, lower costs, and create good-paying jobs. We passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to return fairness, safety, and integrity to women’s sports. This legislation helps ensure a fair playing field for female athletes by prohibiting biological men from competing against them. And just recently, we passed a budget resolution to begin drafting the one big, beautiful bill that will deliver President Trump’s full America First agenda. This agenda includes cutting taxes for families and small businesses, locking in historic savings, unleashing American energy to lower costs, securing the border, and rooting out wasteful government spending of your tax dollars. In Congress, I am committed to working with President Trump and my colleagues on solutions to fix as many problems as possible. You gave us a mandate to change the direction of our country, and that is what we are going to do. This Easter season, as my family and I celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we find renewed hope not only for ourselves and our children but also for our nation. While there is much more work ahead, I believe that America’s best days are ahead. As you gather with your loved ones during this special time, I encourage you to seek refuge in your faith and remember that there is hope for the future. Please also remember our military families – especially those who can’t be together this Easter. Renee, Lane and I wish a blessed and happy Easter to all those celebrating. May God bless you, our military families, and our great nation.
