Did you see this headline from earlier this month, John?
Northwest Public Broadcasting:
Head Start serves 15,000 kids in Washington. And its regional office just closed.

It can be next to impossible to find and afford childcare, especially in a rural community – and it’s even more difficult for folks who work long hours.
I experienced this firsthand as a mom working in the trades, when my husband and I used to bring our son to our auto repair shop when there weren’t other options available.
Resources like Head Start are essential for providing early childhood education, health services, and family support to working families here in Southwest Washington and nationwide.
Since the beginning of my time in Congress, I have worked to expand access to quality, affordable childcare, and I’m not stopping now – because when working families succeed, our entire community succeeds.
Will you join my fight for accessible and affordable childcare by signing on today?
Thank you,
Marie
