San Antonio Events

Vigil for Mark Miller

The tragic suicide of Navy Veteran Mark Miller is a devastating reminder that this country is failing to support those who have sacrificed the most. This week, I was honored to march alongside Mark’s family to demand better mental health resources for our veteran heroes. I will keep fighting for our veterans—we must protect those who have fought to protect us.

Senior Center Visit to Madonna Neighborhood Center

Earlier this week, I visited the Senior Center in the Madonna Neighborhood Center. I had a chance to hear from y’all and share what I have been doing to fight for Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Thank you for hosting me and for sharing your stories with me.

Legislative Updates

Demanding Details from Marco Rubio and Nayib Bukele’s Agreement to “Detain and Deport Migrants”

The Administration has twisted the law and already made a grave error sending Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a gulag in El Salvador. Representative Gregory Meeks (NY-5) and I sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, demanding details of the Administration’s deal made with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele to accept and detain deportees from the United States.

Read the letter here.

Supporting ACA Eligibility for DACA Recipients

I recently sent a letter to Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. expressing strong opposition to the Department’s proposal to reverse Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace eligibility for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, a move that would significantly restrict access to affordable health coverage. I’ll make sure to keep you updated as events unfold.

I co-led this letter along with U.S. Senators Booker (D-NJ) and Maize Hirono (D-HI) and Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07).
