This is an email series highlighting the risks that refugees and internally displaced people are facing as a result of recent funding cuts

Dear John,

Last year, together with your support, we were able to respond to 43 emergency declarations where people fled for their lives seeking protection and shelter with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

This year we may not be able to respond. Drastic funding cuts are already endangering lives. When an emergency hits, there is no time to waste but now our ability to deliver urgent aid is at risk. The impact of funding cuts on refugees' lives is already devastating and will get far worse. This means fewer emergency supplies, delayed responses and more families left without support.
Some of the most critical consequences include:

Stockpiles of essential relief items like blankets and water containers will be limited.
Clean water, food and emergency shelter will be hard to deliver during sudden crises.
Medical kits and trauma care may not reach people injured by war or disaster.
Children and survivors of violence may be left without protection or safe spaces.
This is where you come in.([link removed]) With your help, UNHCR can provide life-saving support, the moment it is needed.
