Huntsville Town Hall

Congressman Sessions takes questions at his Huntsville Town Hall |
On Wednesday, I hosted a town hall in Huntsville at the H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Complex. It was a great opportunity to provide an update from Washington and hear directly from members of the community. I shared my priorities as your Congressman, including my work as Chair of the Government Operations Subcommittee, Co-Chair of the DOGE Caucus, and as a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee. I also highlighted the casework services my office offers to assist constituents with federal agencies. After the presentation, I welcomed questions from attendees. I’m grateful for the respectful and thoughtful conversations we had, whether we agreed or not, it was encouraging to see a shared commitment to open dialogue. The Latexo UIL Math Team presents a quilt to Congressman Sessions |
I had the pleasure of visiting Latexo High School on Wednesday for a school assembly, where I presented the fourth and final laptop donated by Dell Technologies to Coach Audrey Cravens. Coach Cravens has led the Latexo UIL Math Team to an incredible 12 consecutive state championships, a record that speaks volumes about her leadership and the dedication of her students. Click here to watch a video sent by Dell Technologies to be shown at the assembly. I've followed this team’s success closely, and during my visit, they surprised me with a handmade quilt as a token of appreciation. I was truly honored to receive such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. Thank you, Coach Cravens, for your tireless dedication to your students and for raising the bar for academic excellence in TX-17. The Latexo UIL Math Team is a shining example of what it means to aim high and go, in the words of Buzz Lightyear, to infinity and beyond!

Congressional Art Competition
Last weekend, my office proudly hosted the Congressional Art Competition for both the East Texas and Deep East Texas regions of TX-17. This year’s theme, “America, the Beautiful,” inspired students to submit powerful and creative works that captured the spirit of our nation through their own unique perspectives.

Robinson Service Academy Announcement
 |
Congressman Sessions and Gage Gonzales |
Last Friday, I was in Robinson to celebrate an achievement by one of our community’s bright young leaders, Gage Gonzales, who has received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Gage has consistently demonstrated the qualities of integrity, discipline, and service, qualities that define both a strong leader and a proud representative of TX-17. His appointment to West Point is not only a reflection of his academic excellence and character, but also a testament to the support of his family, teachers, and mentors who have helped guide him along the way. I have no doubt that Gage will rise to meet the challenge and make our community proud as he begins this next chapter in service to our country. Congratulations, Gage!

Congressman Sessions presents Nucor with a flag flown over the US Capitol |
On Wednesday, I spoke at Nucor Steel Texas in Jewett to celebrate their 50th anniversary. As North America’s largest steel manufacturer, Nucor plays a vital role in our economy and national infrastructure. I’m proud that TX-17 is home to one of their bar steel mills, which employs 450 hardworking Texans and continues to set the standard for innovation, resilience, and excellence in manufacturing. Nucor Steel Texas is also a beacon of safety in the industry, consistently setting an example for what responsible manufacturing looks like. Congratulations to the entire Nucor team on five decades of outstanding achievement.

Huntsville Rotary Club

Congressman Sessions and Huntsville Rotary Club President Michelle Spencer |
My Wednesday travel day wouldn’t have been complete without a stop at the Huntsville Rotary Club. It’s always a pleasure to spend time with Rotarians, who set a powerful example of community service, leadership, and civic involvement across TX-17. I shared updates from Washington and discussed how my work in Congress is supporting institutions like Sam Houston State University. I appreciated the thoughtful conversation and the warm welcome from the club members.
