Water Meter Replacement Project - Phase Two
The City of Hurst is modernizing its water metering system to provide customers with better tools to track water usage. The first phase of the project begain in October 2024 with contractors assessing pipe materials to meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead & Copper requirements. The second phase begins this April/May with meter installations. Over the next year, teams will replace all residential and commercial meters with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) models. Work will occur Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., and you’ll receive mailed notice before installation in your area. Installers will wear Ameresco and Second Sight Systems uniforms and vehicles and they will never enter your home. After installation, water lines may be flushed, or instructions will be left for you. For updates or questions, call the City of Hurst's Utility Billing Department at 817-788-7040. Click the button below for a video about the installation process. For more detailed information about the entire project, visit hursttx.gov/AMI.
Thank you for your support as we modernize our system!

 Lemonade Day
May 10 | 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Help us empower today's youth to be tomorrow's entrepreneurs!
Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own, and operate their own business - a lemonade stand.
Each child that registers receives access to the Lemonade Day curriculum that teaches them lessons like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem which is critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some.
They can have a stand in their front yard or partner with a local business that has volunteered to be a "Sweet Spot Sponsor," elevating the visibility of the lemonade stand and the business owner. For more information, click the button below!
