As you know, the Trump Administration, Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have launched a full-scale assault on the Social Security Administration (SSA). Staffing cuts, field office closures, breaching of SSA data and misguided policy changes that impact seniors’ ability to access their earned benefits are causing growing alarm among beneficiaries.

Last week, thanks to the pressure you and other senior Americans are exerting on the Trump Administration to stop their assault on SSA, the agency announced the reversal of a harmful policy that would have prevented beneficiaries from claiming benefits by phone, instead forcing them to go online or to visit a SSA field office.

Musk and DOGE have been busy erecting barriers for people simply trying to access their earned benefits. While we are glad this one barrier has fallen, there are many more harmful policies they have enacted under the phony cover of hunting for waste, fraud and abuse (of which they’ve found virtually none!).

Remember, the Trump Administration is looking for “easy” money and recklessly slashing SSA will free up funds they can use to help pay for their massive $7 trillion tax cut package that benefits the wealthy and huge corporations.

With your support today, we will continue our fight to reverse these misguided policies before more harm is inflicted on millions of beneficiaries and irreversible damage is done to SSA’s infrastructure.
