Friend,

Donald Trump has never hidden his authoritarian tendencies, but now he’s putting them on full display.

For his birthday, President Trump is planning a military parade to honor himself. He tried this same stunt in 2018, but now, with full control of the government, he just might pull it off.

While Americans struggle with soaring costs and the fallout from his reckless tariffs, Trump wants to waste millions in taxpayer money on a glorified show of power — just to feed his ego. Even worse, he’s planning to use active duty service members as props in this spectacle — the same troops he once called “suckers” and “losers,” and whose jobs, benefits, and livelihoods he’s threatened with his own executive orders.

And here’s the kicker: This spectacle would be the opposite of what Trump and Elon Musk’s DOGE supposedly stands for. You can’t eliminate thousands of government jobs in the name of cutting waste, and then blow tens of millions on a vanity parade.

This isn’t just preposterous — it’s disrespectful, dangerous, and deeply un-American.

The last time Trump proposed this, it was estimated to cost over $90 million. Imagine how many Veterans could get the healthcare they deserve with that money. How many could be housed? How many active duty members could get better support? This military parade would be an insult to our troops.

Military parades honoring a single leader are hallmarks of authoritarian regimes, not democracies. This kind of glorification of one man is the opposite of what our Constitution stands for, and we cannot let it happen.

If you're with me, join me in calling on Congress to condemn this dangerous, self-serving display of authoritarianism.
