DOJ Announces Civil Lawsuit Against Maine for Declining to Protect Integrity of Women’s Sports
HotAir: Looks like Janet Mills will get her wish. Two months ago, Donald Trump warned the governor of Maine that he would cut off federal education funding to the state if she and the legislature didn’t keep biological males out of female-only spaces. “We’ll see you in court,” Mills replied. Reliance on Title IX will depend on whether the courts take the word “sex” seriously and literally. Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education, and requires that colleges and universities that receive federal funds provide equal opportunities to men and women in all aspects of education — including athletics. That requirement has forced schools in the past to balance slots in athletic competitions, in some cases forcing men’s teams to shut down to resolve conflicts ( HotAir). Fox and Friends: DOJ announces civil lawsuit against Maine Department of Education over Title IX violations ( X). Salem News Channel: Riley Gaines joined Pam Bondi at the DOJ press briefing… GAINES: “I’m frustrated that we have to be here, that we as women have to stand before you all on national television, demanding equal opportunities, demanding privacy in areas of undressing, demanding safety in our sports” ( X).

UK Supreme Court Determines Men Do Not Qualify as Women Under Anti-Discrimination Law
Townhall: On Wednesday, the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court ruled that transgender women do not fit the legal definition of “woman.” Justice Patrick Hodge clarified that all five judges agreed that “the terms ‘woman’ and ‘sex’” in the country’s Equality Act, established in 2010, “refer to a biological woman and biological sex” ( Townhall). Oli London: UK Supreme Court rules that a ‘woman’ in UK law refers to biological sex and a transgender man is not a woman by legal definition ( X).

Donald Trump Lambasts Biden’s Immigration Policy
Townhall: President Donald Trump excoriated former President Joe Biden on Tuesday over his lax immigration policies. In a post on Truth Social, Trump noted the high number of illegal immigrants with criminal records who reside in the US due to Biden’s failure to handle the border crisis ( Townhall). Donald Trump: Sleepy Joe Biden, THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, has allowed millions and millions of Criminals, many of them murderers, drug dealers, and people released from prisons and mental institutions from all around the world, to enter our Country through it’s very dangerous and ill conceived Open Border. Sorry, but it’s my job to get these killers and thugs out of here. THAT’S WHAT I GOT ELECTED TO DO. MAGA ( X)! Piers Morgan: This is an incredible achievement by President Donald Trump that is not receiving anywhere close to the media attention it would get if it was any other President who had done it ( X). Shermichael Singleton: Illegal immigration is not a right. We have a process and people need to follow it ( X).

California Sues Trump Over Tariffs
Townhall: California is filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration over the global tariffs it imposed earlier this month. Gov. Gavin Newsom published a video on social media in which he announced the legal action ( Townhall). Libs of TikTok: Gavin Newsom is suing the Trump Admin over tariffs. He claims the tariffs are “unlawful” and are “wreaking chaos.” Newsom just asked for a $2.8 billion bailout for Medicaid for illegals and California is facing a homeless crisis. Meanwhile this is what he’s focusing on and spending tax dollars on ( X).

Trump Signs Order to Inhibit Illegals from Obtaining Social Security Numbers
Townhall: President Donald Trump signed a memorandum at the White House Tuesday to make it more difficult for illegal aliens to obtain Social Security numbers and benefits…The move comes after the Department of Government Efficiency found millions of illegal aliens were given Social Security numbers under the Biden administration. Former President Joe Biden deliberately allowed more than 14 million illegal aliens into the country from 2021-2024. The Trump administration is working to deport as many of them as possible ( Townhall). America: Social Security Numbers issued to Non-Citizens over the past four years: 2021 — 270,425. 2022 — 590,193. 2023 — 964,163. 2024 — 2,095,247 ( X).

District Judge James Boasberg Threatens to Hold Trump Officials in Contempt for Not Turning Deportation Planed Around Mid-Flight
HotAir: District Judge James Boasberg issued a ruling today that basically finds the Trump administration in contempt for deportation flights that took place contrary to an order he issued last month. The judge also gives the Trump administration one week to correct its behavior and potentially avoid the contempt finding ( HotAir). Eric Daugherty: Judge James Boasberg announces potential contempt prosecution against Trump officials because they did not turn around the deportation planes mid-flight. “The Court will find probable cause that Defendants’ actions constitute contempt” ( X). CNN: CNN legal analyst Steve Vladeck said these moves are rare. “Holding federal executive branch officials in criminal contempt is just about unheard of, once in a blue moon,” said Vladeck, a professor at the University of Georgetown School of Law. “Part of why Chief Judge Boasberg is moving cautiously is because he’s trying to walk a tightrope, not letting the government off the hook for its misbehavior, but also not provoking pushback from either the DC Circuit or the Supreme Court” ( CNN).

Judge Rules in Favor of School District, Against Parents Protesting Transgender Boy Competing Against Daughters
Townhall: A federal judge in New Hampshire sided with a local school district in a recent lawsuit to prevent parents from protesting a transgender athlete competing in women’s sports. In September, a group of parents wore pink-colored armbands labeled “XX” during a high school soccer game where a boy masquerading as a girl played against females. The wristbands represented female chromosomes. Following this, the Bow and Dunbarton School Districts Superintendent Marcy Kelley issued a notice of trespass against the parents involved. In response, the parents filed a lawsuit claiming that their First Amendment rights were violated. On Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Steven McAuliffe, who was appointed by President George H. W. Bush, sided with the school district that tried to stop the parents from protesting. Brian Cullen, an attorney for the school district, reportedly said that he agreed with McAuliffe’s decision. “It simply prevents them (the parents) from bringing their protest to the sidelines of a game being played by kids. That should not be a controversial limitation,” he said. The transgender athlete that sparked this controversy, Parker Tirrell, previously tried to overturn a statute banning boys in girls’ sports ( Townhall).

Oakland Mayoral Election Could Take Weeks to Decide
HotAir: A special election was held Tuesday to replace recalled Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao. The winner may not be known for days or weeks thanks to slow counting and ranked choice voting, but as of today the more moderate candidate Loren Taylor has a small lead over the woke progressive in the race, Barbara Lee. Winning the race requires one candidate to win a simple majority of the votes. However, because there were a bunch of low interest candidates in the race, it looks like neither of the leadings candidates will reach that… The vote totals will change as mail-in ballots are still being counted ( HotAir). End Wokeness: “India, 1 day to count 640m votes. Germany, 8 hours to count 50m. California, 4 weeks!” Gov. Newsom: “It IS ridiculous!!!” Full rebrand tour underway ( X).

New York AG Letitia James Responds As She Faces Investigation of Mortgage Fraud
RedState: New York Attorney General Letitia James campaigned for office on one thing and one thing only—”getting” Donald Trump. Symbolizing the banana republic style perversion of justice that defined the Biden years, James hit Trump with bogus real estate fraud charges and managed to glean a judgement from biased New York Judge Arthur Engoron against the real estate mogul for over $400 million—despite the fact that there were no victims to her made up “crime,” there were no losses, and in fact the very banks that she claims he defrauded said they would be more than happy to do business with Trump again… as Ms. James is finding out now that she has been credibly accused of real estate fraud—ironically, the same thing she charged Trump for—and may now face federal charges ( RedState). Rep. Byron Donalds: “No one is above the law. Even when you think the rules don’t apply to you.” – Letitia James ( X). Nick Sortor: Letitia James is going full-on Jasmine Crockett, devolving into ghetto screeching as she faces potential criminal charges from the DOJ. She’s absolutely SPIRALING ( X).

Trump Administration Holy Week Commemoration Continues as Christians Recognize Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday
DOGE News: Press Sec. Leavitt: “The President signed a Holy Week proclamation, filmed a special message, and is hosting an Easter dinner and a WH Easter worship service” ( X). Fox News: On Holy Thursday, the president is expected to host a staff worship service at the White House, where White, the Rev. Franklin Graham, Pastor Greg Laurie and Pastor Jentezen Franklin will participate in prayer, scripture, service and communion. During the service, an ensemble from Liberty University will perform worship music… Leavitt stressed that this “is another sharp contrast from the previous administration” ( Fox News). Albert Mohler: Presidents tend to put out major statements timed, for example, for major holidays. And so recurringly, when you have, on the Christian calendar, events such as Christmas and Easter, you can count on the fact that most administrations will put out some kind of statement, usually pretty innocuous, just recognizing the fact that there are many Christians who are going to be observing those holidays. Now at the same time, they present all kinds of opportunities for trouble, and that’s exactly what came last year when President Joe Biden released a statement and then Easter came, and on that Sunday he also declared it to be a day of solidarity with the Transgender Visibility Day that led to a lot of quite deserved controversy ( Briefing). White House: This Holy Week, my Administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government. We will never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square. As we focus on Christ’s redeeming sacrifice, we look to His love, humility, and obedience—even in life’s most difficult and uncertain moments. This week, we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation. We pray that America will remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world, and we pray to achieve a future that reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal kingdom in Heaven ( White House).
