Legislative Priorities Update
We are nearing crunch time in the Texas Legislature for bills to have a chance at passing this session. Thousands of bills have been filed, only a select number directly address the Republican Party of Texas' Priorities—those our delegates passionately voted for at last year's Convention. Our Legislative Priorities Committee is hard at work, closely tracking these key bills and staying in constant communication with lawmakers. We're committed to turning those priorities into real, lasting change that protects and advances liberty for all Texans this session.
Urgent Call to Action!
HB 2279 by Representative Schofield is scheduled for a public hearing tomorrow in House Elections committee. It requires individuals who are called for jury duty but are not citizens of the United States (and disqualify themselves as such) are identified and remove from the voter roll if present.

Waiting for a committee hearing - Contact the committee chair or members of the committee to get a hearing for a priority bill (Once assigned to a committee a bill must have a hearing in order to remain viable.)
Left pending in committee - Contact the committee chair and members of the committee for a bill that has had a hearing but left pending. It needs to be voted out of committee (To remain viable a bill must be voted out of the committee into the Calendars Com.)
