Just a few weeks ago, during a staff meeting, a message came in from a young, pregnant mother in crisis. She was scared, alone, and unsure of what to do. We stopped everything — right then and there — and prayed for her together as a team. 

After my call with her, we prayed again, asking God to give her peace and strength as she embraced life!

I’ve been at Live Action for eight years, and I have the humbling honor of serving women who reach out to us needing help after they discover that they are pregnant.

In just these first few months of 2025, pregnant women have contacted us more frequently than I have ever seen. 

Some of these women are desperate for practical support and resources, overwhelmed by fear, confusion, and pressure in a culture that claims abortion is their only option.

Others are reaching out to share that Live Action is one of the few voices offering clarity and truth — giving them real hope when they need it most.

Our team at Live Action exists to create education that changes individual hearts and minds — and ultimately the culture — to make abortion unthinkable. We don’t host a counseling phone line because that need is already beautifully being met by 24/7 national resources. 

But because we reach tens of millions every day with trusted, hope-driven education, it’s no wonder mothers contact Live Action in search of support. Often, they just don’t know about the national and local resources available to them, so we become an essential, life-saving bridge.

Frankly, though, my team needs to expand to accommodate all the messages, prayer requests, and inquiries we receive. That’s why I’m reaching out to you, John.

“I was a nanny for 10 years, and still, I believed there were many exceptions for abortion. My stance was heavily influenced by my own self-hatred. It wasn’t until I came to know Jesus Christ that I learned of my own intrinsic value and finally believed it. 

Just a month after I started my faith journey, I found out that I had become pregnant.... [but] I lost my baby around 6-7 weeks. I felt so much shame that I was reluctant to share my grief with anyone. I feared that in our culture where many people celebrate abortion, my pain would be quickly dismissed. 

While attempting to cope with this loss on my own, I found solace in Live Action’s online content. They shared a message that all life has value, even my little baby that I didn’t get to meet. It gave me so much hope that I wanted to do the same for others! I have been a pro-life advocate ever since!!”

John, this woman’s testimony is why we do what we do.

With all of life’s trials and sorrows, it’s easy to forget that it is GOOD to exist, that life is a beautiful gift, and that healing is available to everyone. This reminder changes everything because, if we see our own value as God’s precious son or daughter and find hope in His mercy, we’ll be able to rejoice in the lives of others as well.

Along with being moved by her message, I thought it was beautiful to see that this woman also became a Live Action Life Defender (monthly supporter). She’s now saving lives daily from abortion through her partnership with Live Action. But more people like her are needed for our culture to truly shift pro-life.
