John, President Trump made a bold claim:
“Social Security will not be touched, it will only be strengthened.”
In case it isn’t clear by now, that’s a flat-out lie.
In the past several months, Trump has unleashed Elon Musk and his DOGE buddies to close Social Security offices, shut down the phone lines and cut services that help our seniors get their hard-earned benefits.
Now, The New York Times released a new report that Trump and Musk are trying to violate our privacy by collecting 314 pieces of data about each and every American — including our Social Security numbers, disability statuses and even our bank account numbers.
Musk wants to consolidate our private information into one database — and security experts are sounding the alarm.

That’s why I’m speaking up in the Senate to defend our Social Security and hold GOP extremists like Elon Musk accountable. Will you chip in to power Democrats’ fight and elect MORE Social Security champions in the midterms? I could really use your help: [[link removed]]

A note from Kirsten:
John, I am truly honored to have won reelection, and I promise to continue the critical work toward bipartisan solutions for New Yorkers as we enter this new term.
While we had many victories in New York this election season, our fight to retake control of the Senate is far from over.
Please, donate today to make sure my team and I can continue securing crucial progress on the issues that matter the most and help flip the Senate blue in 2026. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
Kirsten Gillibrand
