I served in Congress during Donald Trump's first term and I honestly believed I'd seen the absolute low point of American leadership.

But last week, Donald Trump broke new ground in his stupidity.

His reckless, half-baked tariffs are a full-scale attack on the U.S. economy — and everyone with a pulse knows they're going to drive up prices, kill jobs, and hurt working families. 

There’s one thing Trump has made very clear: he has no strategy. There is no grand plan, there is no global strategy – Trump is flying by the seat of his pants. The president’s very own trade advisor isn’t clued in and is finding things out via tweet. One day they’re announcing new tariffs across the board, the next they’re making exemptions for some billionaires. All the while, businesses, large and small, are panicking. Households are scrambling. Retirement accounts are cratering. And MAGA Republicans? They're standing around nodding like this is all some genius-level plan. The only people benefiting from Trump’s chaos are his corrupt billionaire criminal cronies, who are raking in billions from this chaos. The system is rigged against people like you to help people like Elon Musk.

And here's the kicker: Congress could stop this. Right now. Speaker Mike Johnson could bring a bill to the floor to rein in Trump and take back Congress' constitutional authority on trade.

But he won't because he's a coward.
