John,

Terrible news: The new U.S. Administration wants to eliminate the CDC's Office of Smoking and Health (OSH) and has slashed staff at the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products. This threatens to reverse the progress we've made to drive down tobacco use in our country.

Tell Congress to stop this immediately: [link removed]

OSH's former director just called these cuts " the greatest gift to the tobacco industry in the last half-century." [[link removed]]

Why? The FDA and CDC are on the front lines in protecting kids and saving lives from tobacco – the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. In particular, the CDC plays a critical role in preventing kids from using tobacco, helping smokers quit, monitoring youth tobacco use, and tracking the emergence of new threats.

Unless Congress acts to defend these programs, more kids will become addicted – and more Americans will die from tobacco use.

Send a message to Congress: Defend CDC and FDA programs that protect kids from tobacco addiction and save lives.
