GCPD Call for Entries for the 2025 NDEAM Poster Art Competition

2024 DEAM Poster Winner

Every October, the Texas Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD) proudly produces a poster for Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM), showcasing the incredible talent of a Texas artist with a disability. These posters have become a powerful symbol of inspiration, with over 2,000 distributed to businesses across Texas last year.

Submission guidelines and the entry form are located on the GCPD website. Explore the creativity of past poster art competition winners through our webinar, Art Works! Careers in the Visual Arts and People with Disabilities. You can also visit GCPD's gallery of DEAM posters from the past twenty years on our poster web page, celebrating the rich artistic contributions that enhance our community. The winning artwork will also shine as part of the Texas HireAbility Campaign.

Texas artists with disabilities are encouraged to send submissions to [email protected]. Artists should include a high-resolution digital photo attachment of the original artwork. We also welcome color photocopies or images on a CD sent via postal mail. Remember, the original artwork does not need to be submitted with your entry. All visual media formats are accepted, so let your creativity soar! Keep in mind, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is strictly prohibited.

All entries must include a signed entry form, a brief artist statement, and a compelling explanation of how your artwork connects to the theme of employment and the national topic. Please ensure all entries include a headshot and the artist's legal name.

Entries must be received by email or postmarked by June 30, 2025. There is NO FEE for submission. The 2025 winner will be announced this September!

The winning poster will be on permanent display in the Office of the Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities office. It will also occasionally be featured in offsite exhibits or at events where the Governor's Committee may be present. Furthermore, the winning artist will be honored as a featured guest at the prestigious Lex Frieden Employment Awards ceremony.

Don’t miss this opportunity—send your entries to GCPD today! We look forward to your participation!
