Team, “It’s not left or right. It’s right or wrong.”

Senator Cory Booker’s words were on my mind when MAGA Republicans in Congress pushed their budget proposal through the House without a single vote from Democrats.

This is just wrong.

The Republican budget drains money from Medicaid ($880 billion) to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

It takes food out of poor children’s mouths by cutting the SNAP program ($220 billion) to fund the Trump Administration’s vicious ICE raids.

These wrong-headed and, frankly, nauseating policies will devastate our communities: 154,000 people in my district alone rely on Medicaid for their healthcare coverage — about 50,000 are children.

I’ll say it again: stealing money from children and families to fund tax cuts for billionaires is just plain WRONG.

I get calls every day from folks who are rightfully fearful of losing their healthcare coverage. My team and I are working tirelessly to share the cruel truth of the Republican budget; can you chip in a donation of any amount to support the fight?

It’s not always as simple as right and wrong. But right now, it is.
