House GOP Clears the Way for Massive Cuts in Critical Programs to Fund Billionaire Tax Cuts.

A “big, beautiful bill” would not have headlines like this. Let me be clear: The GOP is stealing from taxpayers and hardworking Americans — and we won't stand for it.

Last week, the House GOP officially passed the budget bill that President Trump calls a “big, beautiful bill.” But would a beautiful bill call for massive cuts to life-saving programs funded by and promised to taxpayers like Medicaid and SNAP?

Definitely not. I’m proud to say House Democrats are continuing to put up a united front against the GOP leadership. Not a single Democrat voted for the GOP’s disgusting, unacceptable budget.

No Democrat would vote for a bill that calls for:

Cuts to vital programs to fund $1.5 trillion in tax giveaways to Elon Musk & the 1%.
Increasing the debt limit by $5 trillion.
Cutting $880 billion to the House Energy & Commerce Committee, the committee that controls Medicaid spending.
Cutting $230 billion in food assistance programs, like SNAP.

By voting for this cruel bill, Republicans have betrayed hardworking taxpayers by cutting the very programs our taxes should be paying for. Instead, they are prioritizing billionaires over working people, and they are making a mockery of the oath they took to defend the Constitution and faithfully discharge their duties of office.

We lost this battle by only TWO votes. That is how slim this GOP majority is, and it’s why we need to prioritize our year-round organizing across PA.

With this budget, the GOP has shown they are willing to cut anything, no matter how important to the American people, all just to keep Trump and his billionaire backers happy.
