[link removed] [[link removed]] Friend, I’ve heard from so many folks in our community that, right now, the state of our politics just feels hopeless.
I want to let you know that I hear you. There’s so much cause for all of us to feel anger, outrage, and exhaustion. But one thing none of us should feel is hopeless, team, because I certainly don’t.
If you have a moment, I’d like to share with you five things that give me hope in this moment we’ve found ourselves in:
1. The resilience of the American spirit. As a nation, we’ve faced down greater challenges and come out on top. And I know we won’t give in now: Americans don’t back down from a tough fight.
2. Democratic State Attorneys General across the country who are leading the charge to stop Trump and Musk’s illegal mass firings, prevent DOGE from accessing Americans’ private data, and restore education funding appropriated by Congress.
3. Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race proved that when we stand together, we can defeat right-wing billionaires who want to buy our elections, and instead choose Democracy.
4. Americans are standing up for their rights in town halls across the nation, even in ruby red districts where their GOP representatives have decided to hide rather than face their own voters.
5. And finally, every upcoming election between now and 2026 is a new chance for Democrats to present our case to the American people and build a movement to ultimately reject MAGA extremism for good. We’re just getting started, and there’s still a long road ahead of us.
Sadly, Trump’s constant attacks on our democracy and the fundamental rule of law do keep me awake at night. But folks, I refuse to give up.
I’m rallying supporters across OR-06 to fight back against Donald Trump’s agenda. I’m speaking out everywhere I can to condemn Republicans’ plan to rip away healthcare from millions of hardworking Americans. I’ve even called on House Republicans to join with Democrats and block Trump’s destructive tariffs.
I can’t promise that we’ll win every fight. But I know that when we stand together, we can make a real difference. So I have to ask: Will you chip in $5 to stand with me as I fight back against Trump’s dangerous agenda?
