URGENT: New directive from Agriculture Secretary allows commercial logging to side-step public opposition and environmental safeguards. [link removed]

Renew today to help us protect our old-growth forests >> [link removed] Friend — The Trump administration just released a new directive that
will allow Big Timber even more unfettered access to log our national forests,
prioritizing profits over public health and climate. The Trump administration’s order is sweeping: it hands an area larger than
California — 59% of all Forest Service lands — over to corporations for
destructive logging operations, all while firing forest service staff with the
expertise to manage our forests. Our movement must respond to this latest reckless order — but we need your help. We’ve set a goal for 400 new annual LCV members to join us before Earth Day,
April 22. So, we’re asking: Will you renew your LCV membership today to help us fight this latest move to use our public lands and forests for private profit? [link removed] Right now, if you start an annual membership with a gift of $20 or more to help
us reach our Earth Day goal, we’ll even send you a “Climate Action Now!” t-shirt
— on us! RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP [link removed] Here’s what this new directive does: Opens up a swath of land larger than the state of California to commercial logging, with the designated “emergency” area spanning from the Western U.S. to the Great Lakes and even into New England.Prohibits local communities and Tribes from opposing new logging projects, robbing the people most directly impacted by this increase in logging from having a voice in decisions that impact their communities, the air they breathe, and the water they rely on.  Allows commercial logging projects to move forward without environmental reviews by making these areas exempt from needing environmental experts to weigh in to protect ecosystems, communities, and wildlife. We need grassroots power, our power, to stop this.Your renewed support will help us mobilize public opposition, take legal action,
and demand Congress act before it’s too late. Please, renew your membership today to mobilize grassroots support for our old-growth forests and pressure lawmakers to prioritize the long-term health of our communities and planet >> [link removed] The Trump administration is moving fast to hand over our public lands to the
highest bidder. But we are faster, stronger, and louder — when we stand
together. Thank you for being with us, Friend. Onward, Chris Brooks
