Now, they’re raking in record profits and lobbying Congress to maintain this unjust status quo.
In just the past year, we’ve seen devastating wildfires rip through Los Angeles and New York, catastrophic floods in Appalachia, and multiple record-breaking heat waves scorch the entire country.
If Exxon and other fossil fuel companies paid what they owed for the damage they’ve caused, Congress wouldn’t need to keep passing the buck to everyday people with their tax cuts for billionaires.
