Indivisibles,

Trump and his Republican lackeys in Congress are laying the groundwork to pass a massive tax giveaway for billionaires funded by cuts to programs that millions of Americans depend on to survive. If Republicans succeed in passing their billionaire tax scam, millions of Americans could lose their healthcare or face catastrophic medical debt. Hospitals and healthcare facilities around the country could close. Tens of thousands of kids could go hungry. All of this so that billionaires like Elon Musk can get a little bit richer.

But this isn’t a done deal. Republicans know their plans are unpopular, and there are deep divisions in the GOP about how to get this done. That means we have an opening to disrupt and delay the process, exploit fractures in their tiny majority, and build a public backlash that they can’t ignore -- and it all starts with the April recess.

From now through April 27, Members of Congress will be back home in their states and districts. This is our first opportunity to sound the alarm on this bill. We need everyone in our communities to learn what’s at stake. We need Democrats fighting back loudly. And we need every Republican to know they’ll be held accountable if they cast a vote to cut Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs.

Indivisible groups are organizing events, protests, and rallies right now to start building public opposition to the Republican tax scam. We’re supporting them with a whole host of resources including toolkits and reimbursements, press and messaging guidance, printable signs and promo graphics, and more. But we can’t do this work without your support.

We’re counting on our grassroots donors to help fund the fight against Trump’s billionaire tax scam. If you’re able to donate to support our organizing, please click here to pitch in.

In 2017, congressional recesses kicked off our organizing efforts to save the Affordable Care Act. We won that fight, protected healthcare for millions of Americans, and set the stage for a blue wave in 2018. We can do it again. We can save Medicaid, save SNAP, and make Republicans pay a political price for fleecing their own constituents to benefit their billionaire donors.

The fight starts with this recess, and right now we have momentum on our side. Earlier this month, we helped organize the Hands Off! nationwide mobilization where millions of people took to the streets to stand up to Trump and Musk. Now, the April recess is the next step. Local Indivisible groups are building on the energy we saw on April 5, and we’re working to get thousands of new Indivisibles plugged into the grassroots organizing happening in their communities.

This will be the toughest fight we’ll face this year and we can’t do it without your help. If you can afford to pitch in a few bucks to help fuel this work, please click here to donate.

Indivisible Project is a locally-led, people-powered movement of thousands of local groups in red, blue, and purple states, and in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Our mission is to power and lift up a grassroots movement of local groups to defeat the Trump agenda, elect progressive leaders, and realize bold progressive policies.

Grassroots donations, not foundations or large gifts, are our single largest source of funding. That means we’re accountable to, and fueled by, Indivisibles on the ground. Chip in $7 to keep fueling our movement.
