While Republicans focus on handing out tax breaks to billionaires and Donald Trump focuses on instigating a constitutional crisis, Elon Musk is up to his own antics – recently announcing that Social Security is “the big one to eliminate” for DOGE.

This comes after he called Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time” and falsely claimed that undocumented immigrants and long-deceased Americans are among those receiving benefits.

Let’s be really clear: Social Security is a hugely successful program that allows millions of hard-working Americans to retire with dignity and receive the benefits they earned after paying into the program for decades. It’s also one of our most effective anti-poverty programs in the United States!

I may be young compared to my fellow Members of Congress, but even I am old enough to remember that Republicans used to shy away from these wildly extreme proposals that would gut programs that seniors rely on like Social Security and Medicare!

Now that Musk has made it clear that Social Security has a massive target on its back, it’s more important than ever that we make it unmistakably clear to the GOP that this is NOT an acceptable move for the American people.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – a strong public outcry does matter right now. 

So today I’m asking: Will you sign my petition to pass my Delete DOGE Act so we can stop Elon Musk and protect Social Security?

I’ll never stop fighting to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other critical programs that millions of people rely on.
