Anne Frank Center USA Launches Campaign to Support the Sapling Project

This week Jews around the world celebrate the holiday of Passover retelling the story of our freedom from slavery in Egypt.

Today we mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, April 15, 1945. On the anniversary of this day of freedom for the survivors of Bergen-Belsen, and with the enduring hope for the future, the Anne Frank Center USA is launching a campaign to support our national Sapling project.

During her more than 2 years hiding in Amsterdam, Anne Frank found comfort in a towering horse chestnut tree visible from the attic - a reminder of life and light even in the darkest of times. Today, that same tree's descendants are thriving across the United States. Thanks to supporters like you, saplings have been planted at historical sites, schools, and public gardens.

One middle school student in New York said it best: "This tree helps me remember that even small voices can change the world."

Let's keep seeding that change. Every gift helps us plant more saplings, develop educational programs, and build a legacy rooted in hope.

With gratitude,
