John — The 2018 Farm Bill laid the foundation to expand the Thrifty Food Plan, a program designed to offer a nutritionally adequate diet at a low cost that offers the basis for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. 

Thanks to this work, Congress was able to increase the benefits threshold for the first time in over a decade. And while we have made great strides in reducing hunger in the United States, we are far from where we need to be to eradicate this crisis.
