You won’t believe this, team, but Ohio is going to be on HBO!

No, not for anything cool or any notable achievement— HBO is doing a documentary on the FirstEnergy scandal. That’s right, if you tune in tomorrow, you’ll hear all about the Ohio Republicans involved in the largest corruption scandal in our state’s history!

Maybe Governor Mike DeWine? Or Senator Jon Husted? Both are fair game, considering they had dinner with the lobbyists responsible for paying alleged bribes. Or maybe former Speaker Larry Householder, who accepted these bribes as he secured the Ohio House speakership and then passed legislation giving FirstEnergy a $1 billion bailout, leaving Ohioans to pay the price.

Look, we’ll let you tune in on your own time. The point is, DeWine and Husted were involved in a scandal that was so widely known, so undeniably corrupt, that it sent people to prison and HBO made a documentary about it.

Yet, Husted and DeWine got off, completely scot-free. The people who are elected to represent Ohioans, protect our best interests, and make life-changing decisions on our behalf, are sitting scared right now, wondering when they’ll be mentioned in the documentary.
