A campaign participant in Jipijapa, Ecuador, learned that her daughter wanted to get an abortion because she conceived after her IUD failed.

"I'm praying in the 40 Days for Life campaign for other children to be born, but isn't my grandson going to be born?" the woman asked her daughter. "Give him to me, and I'll take care of him!"

The conversation led the expectant mom to choose life! She is now receiving prenatal care so that both she and her baby can thrive.

This family's experience exposes the abortion industry myth that contraception reduces abortion rates.

In reality, hundreds of thousands of abortions take place every year following contraceptive failure--just in the U.S.

This family's journey also shows that a little encouragement and accompaniment can easily save a life!

Albuquerque, New Mexico

The 40 Days for Life team engaged two women who experienced a change of heart and decided not to abort.

Christina, the Albuquerque campaign leader, described a powerful scene of the moms expressing relief at bailing on their appointments. "Both women who changed their minds about getting the abortions were crying tears knowing that they chose life."

One mom didn't change her mind about abortion...but after the woman took the abortion pill and regretted it, the 40 Days for Life volunteers assisted her in finding help to quickly reverse her abortion!

"Three moms chose life on the sidewalks!" Christina announced.

Everett, Washington

A couple in Everett pulled into the Planned Parenthood parking lot, sat for a minute, and then left again.

As they departed, they rolled down their window to speak to the 40 Days for life volunteers. "They said they were leaving because they saw our signs," wrote Angie, the local leader.

A 40 Days for Life participant named Hennie gave the couple a rose with a note about Jesus as well as information on a local pregnancy help center.

Madrid, Spain

A woman considered having an abortion--even though she was near the end of her second trimester of pregnancy.

"She leads a hard life of loneliness and significant hardships that made her consider abortion because she did not want to offer that to her daughter," explained the Madrid 40 Days for Life team.

To make matters worse, the pregnancy help center was closed. But 40 Days for Life prayer warriors were on hand and ready to assist her in choosing life.

"We are with her," the Madrid leadership team continued. "She is already feeling calmer."

Father, we have done battle with the power of evil, and therefore we can have compassion on those still within its grip.
