Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
Before we begin with our usual update, I
want to acknowledge an event that occurred at Governor Josh Shapiro's
residence last evening. Arsonist(s) caused a fire at the home, forcing
the evacuation of the Governor and his family.

Violence has no place in our politics—NONE.
I’m thankful that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. No
elected official or their loved ones—regardless of party—should ever
have their safety threatened for serving the public.
We live in a country where we resolve our differences through
debate, elections, and the rule of law—not through fear, intimidation,
or violence.
What happened last night was not just an attack on one family—it
was an attack on the values we all share as Americans. And it is
particularly disgraceful that this occurred on Passover—a sacred time
of faith, freedom, and reflection.
I’m grateful to the Pennsylvania State Police, Capitol Police, and
the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire for their swift response and for
protecting the Governor’s family. We owe them our thanks and our full
support.
We must all stand united—Republicans and Democrats alike—in
condemning these acts and making clear they will never be tolerated in
our Commonwealth or our country. I look forward to these dangerous
criminals being apprehended, prosecuted, and jailed to the fullest
extent of the law.
On Tuesday night, I joined with PA GOP
Chairman Greg Rothman, Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr., and my good
friends Jim Worthington, Chuck Volpe, and his wife Ellen at the 2025
National Republican Congressional Committee President’s Dinner.
Hearing directly from President Donald J.
Trump — surrounded by patriots, colleagues, and our Commander-in-Chief
— the message was clear: America is back.
The Trump Administration is ushering in a
new Golden Age for our country—cutting wasteful spending, securing the
border, restoring peace through strength, and advancing pro-growth,
pro-America policies that put working families first.
Thank you, President Trump, for your
strong leadership and unwavering commitment to the American people.
Together, we will restore American strength, dominance, and pride—at
home and abroad.

Earlier this week, I joined President
Donald J. Trump at the White House as he signed a major Executive
Order to reinvigorate clean coal and restore American energy
dominance.
This action marks a significant step
forward. It rolls back burdensome regulations, reopens access to
federal resources, and recognizes clean coal as a strategic
asset—supporting American energy production, job creation, and
economic growth.
As Co-Chair of the Congressional Coal
Caucus, I fully support President Trump’s commitment to an
all-of-the-above and all-of-the-below energy solution that works for
Pennsylvania and the nation. I look forward to working with the White
House to implement this America-First energy agenda. Click
here or below to read my statement on the President’s executive
order.

I want to thank President Trump for his
hospitality and acknowledgment of our support for his continued
efforts to implement the American First agenda. Click

historic White House event.

The budget resolution that passed the
House is the bridge to President Trump’s “one, big beautiful”
reconciliation bill.
It doesn’t matter what the bridge is made
of—because it’s simply a framework. What matters is getting to the
other side, where we deliver tax relief, extend President Trump’s Tax
Cuts and Jobs Act, unleash pro-growth energy policies, restore
homeland security, and implement a plan to lower inflation and
interest rates.
That’s how we set the stage for a new
Golden Age in America. I joined "Newsline" on Newsmax to
discuss further. Click
here or below to watch.

Additionally, I spoke on the floor in
support of passing the budget resolution. This budget resolution is a
bridge to reconciliation—and to advancing the America First agenda
through extending President Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,
deregulation, border security, energy dominance, and pro-growth
policies.
The American people voted for bold action—and President Trump is
delivering.
Let’s
cross the bridge. Let’s deliver results. Let’s usher in a New Golden
Age in America. Click

The President's America First agenda is
already producing results. Inflation is down and beating expectations
yet again.
On Friday, Consumer
Price Index report revealed
that inflation fell to 2.4% in March, tied with the lowest it’s been
in five years.
- Prescription drug prices saw the largest
monthly decline, falling 2%.
- Prices for plane tickets, used vehicles, and car insurance all decreased.
- Energy prices fell 2.4%
in March, thanks to cheaper gas prices across the country.
This is the second time in recent days
that President Trump has surpassed expectations and delivered for
American workers. Last week, the jobs report came in much higher than
expected – adding a total of 228,000 jobs in March, including good
paying jobs in blue-collar industries.
President Trump is
already beating expectations.
Republicans are making it easier to vote
and harder to cheat. Democrats… well… they just
voted against a bill that would stop non-citizens from voting
in federal elections.
The SAVE
Act, which just passed the House, is a big win for election
integrity. The legislation requires proof of citizenship when
registering to vote and requires states to remove non-citizens from
existing voter rolls. We can all guess why Democrats opposed it… Watch
my comments by clicking
here or below.

I joined "Varney
& Co." on Fox Business to discuss
the SAVE Act, the Budget Resolution, and the attacks on Elon Musk for
exposing Washington waste. We need to secure our elections, advance
the America-First agenda, and root out waste, abuse, and fraud in the
federal government. Transparency and accountability must be restored
in Washington. Click

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump signed an Executive Order
requiring the automatic rescission of outdated regulations to unleash
American innovation and energy production.
- The Order requires ten agencies and subagencies to insert a
one-year expiration date into existing energy regulations.
- If not extended before the expiration date, these energy
regulations will expire no later than September 30, 2026.
- Agencies will extend only those regulations that affirmatively
serve American interests. The rest will expire, resetting the
regulatory landscape.
- This Order will unleash American energy innovation, which has been
frozen in the 1970s. Regulations from the Carter Administration
should not govern energy production today.
- President Trump is laser focused on energy abundance, not just
efficiency.
KEEPING AMERICAN ENERGY ON THE
CUTTING EDGE: President Trump is committed to keeping
American energy on the cutting edge:
- The Order requires the same agencies to include a five-year
expiration date in future energy regulations, unless those new
regulations are themselves deregulatory.
- If an agency does not affirmatively extend the expiration date of
any energy regulation, that regulation will automatically expire after
five years.
- This Order will ensure American energy regulations are continually
reviewed and updated to keep up with modern technology and needs.
- The Order exempts permitting regimes, to ensure certainty for
long-term development projects.
REWIRING THE
BUREAUCRACY: President Trump knows that the bureaucracy is
built to regulate, not deregulate. The result is an ever-increasing
number of regulations that stifle innovation and limit American
freedom.
- Zero-based regulation uses the bureaucracy against itself. If
bureaucrats move slowly, the default is deregulation and free
markets—not the sclerotic status quo.
- Zero-based regulation demolishes agency resistance against
innovation. It forces agencies to reconsider every regulation, and
justify it for the present day, making regulation more accountable to
elections and the American people.
The deep-rooted bureaucracy is very much
dedicated to continuously looking for ways to stop the private sector,
particularly as it relates to energy production, rather than seeking
ways to support the industry. President Trump is fixing that and will
help to unleash energy production, making America the dominant leader
in energy production globally. That is America First and puts America
National Security First. We cannot be relying on other nations for our
energy needs.
On Tuesday, as Chairman of the Financial
Services Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations, I gaveled in
our hearing: “Decades of Dysfunction: Restoring Accountability at
HUD.”
For too long, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development has been plagued by waste, fraud, and mismanagement—with
billions lost to improper payments, minimal oversight of grantees, and
IT systems dating back to the 1970s.
HUD’s budget has grown
from $45B to $78B in just the past three years, yet transparency and
effectiveness remain sorely lacking.
That’s why I’ve called on
GAO to investigate HUD’s improper payments and fraud risk framework.
With strong Congressional oversight and Secretary Turner’s leadership,
we can restore accountability and support HUD’s core mission of
providing safe, affordable housing. Click
here or below to watch my opening remarks.

Later in the hearing, I pressed
HUD’s Acting IG on the Department’s outdated IT systems, lack of fraud
prevention plans, and inability to track improper payments—issues that
have contributed to billions in wasted taxpayer dollars. Click
here or below to watch.

Later on Tuesday, I participated in a
House Committee on Small Business hearing, I highlighted the real
impact of President Donald J. Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:
✅ Record low unemployment
✅ Strong wage growth
✅ Higher tax revenues
✅ More investment on Main Street
Our witnesses confirmed what we already
knew—these policies weren’t handouts to billionaires.
They empowered small businesses to grow,
hire, and reinvest. We must renew these pro-growth TCJA provisions and
deliver on the America First agenda. Click
here or below to watch.

I stopped by the Pennsylvania National
Guard’s open house to meet with their leadership team, including Maj.
General John Pippy, Adjutant General of Pennsylvania, Maj. Gen.
Terrence Koudelka, Deputy Adjutant General for the PA Air National
Guard, and Maj. Gen. Laura McHugh, Deputy Adjutant General for the PA
Army National Guard.
We discussed the steps they’re taking to
increase their mission readiness and the important services they
provide to veterans. With the PA National Guard based in the 9th
District at Fort Indiantown Gap, I’m committed to improving the
quality of life for our Guard members so they can keep serving both
Pennsylvania and the nation.

I enjoyed meeting with the Executive
Members of Voices of Organic Black Men, including founder Emmanuel
Avraham and my good friend Jim Worthington.
This grassroots initiative empowers Black
communities through economic, social, and policy reform. We discussed
the importance of building relationships in our communities and
pursuing bipartisan policies that aim to deliver increased economic
and educational opportunities throughout Pennsylvania.

I met with members of the Pennsylvania
Bankers Association and discussed ways to improve access to capital
across the Commonwealth. Community banks are essential lifelines for
lending in local communities—but over the past few years, they've been
burdened by price fixing, excessive regulations that cap growth, and
limits on lending to small businesses.
Under President Trump's leadership, House
Republicans will reduce regulations and eliminate unnecessary barriers
so community banks can do what they do best: empower small businesses,
support local families, and strengthen local economies across
Pennsylvania and the country.

House Republicans were glad to welcome
Secretary Sean Duffy back to Capitol Hill! I enjoyed hearing his
thoughts on how the Trump Administration is ushering in a new Golden
Age of Transportation—modernizing infrastructure across our nation’s
roads, rails, and runways.
Secretary Duffy is focused on fulfilling
the U.S. Department of Transportation’s mission: to ensure a fast,
safe, efficient, accessible, and convenient transportation system that
serves our vital national interests and enhances the quality of life
for the American people.

I had a great conversation with Deputy
Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender and North Dakota Governor Kelly
Armstrong at today’s Republican Study Committee lunch.
Deputy Secretary Faulkender emphasized
the importance of making permanent TCJA tax policies for small
business relief.
Governor Armstrong discussed
President Trump's latest executive orders, which are fueling
energy dominance, driving innovation, and strengthening the American
economy.
We appreciated having the Deputy
Secretary and Governor at RSC this week.

On Wednesday evening, we held a
successful telephone town hall. I appreciated the thoughtful questions
and the opportunity to discuss the issues that matter most to you.
It’s always valuable to hear directly from the people I serve and
provide updates on the work we’re doing in Congress. Click
here to read a recap from the Williamsport Sun
Gazette.

On Thursday, we had a great night at the Luzerne County
Republican Committee’s Candidates Forum at LCCC’s Conference Center in
Nanticoke.
Thank you to Chairman Gene Ziemba, Controller Walter Griffith,
and all the members of the Luzerne County Republican Committee for
organizing an event that highlighted our many strong candidates and a
shared commitment to winning in 2025 and beyond.
With the energy we saw in that room—and the unity across our
Republican ticket—Luzerne County is ready to lead the way.
On Friday, I was able to tour the Amazon Web Services (AWS) data
center facility in Berwick. Thank you to Kyle Gruss for leading the
tour and sharing how AWS delivers on-demand IT resources.
Last year, AWS acquired the Berwick data center campus from Talen
Energy. Since then, I’ve been working in Congress to support the
infrastructure needed to power this facility, including efforts to
ensure the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station can deliver the
necessary energy to keep the facility running.
While in Berwick, I had the opportunity to tour Talen Energy’s
Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, one of the largest nuclear plants
in the country, providing carbon-free power to nearly 2 million
homes.
We discussed the role nuclear plays in grid reliability, the
future of clean energy, and how my work in Congress can help support
innovation and long-term investment in our energy
infrastructure.
It was a pleasure to be joined today by State Rep. Robert
Leadbeter and State Rep. Jamie
Walsh. Thank you to the Talen team for the
tour and for your continued work to deliver clean, reliable energy to
the rest of the country.
Stopped by Crispin Valve in Berwick today to meet with President
& CEO Darren Crispin and tour this fourth-generation, family-owned
manufacturer.
Founded in 1905, Crispin revolutionized water infrastructure with
the first air valve, used just five years later on the Panama Canal.
Today, they produce over 35 valve types, serving clients from Disney
to NYC’s water system.
American manufacturing remains a vital part of our economy, and
Pennsylvania continues to play an important role in its continued
success.
On Saturday, I joined the
NEPA Republicans at an event they hosted to both promote the
importance of county level elections and to congratulate and thank PA
GOP Chair Greg Rothman for his leadership. Thank you for inviting me
to the festivities. (Pictured below with Luzerne County
Councilmember Lee Ann McDermott and Chairman Rothman)

I also got to spend some time with the
MAGA Boyz. This is the first time I have met up with them since the
July 13th assassination attempt in Butler PA. We were seated together
at that event.
After attending the NEPA Republicans event, we conducted brief
interview for their podcast where I spoke about the 2024 race and the
campaign trail, some updates on DC and about the future of the
grassroots movement - offering advice on what Republicans can do to
help deliver wins from the ground up. Stay tuned for a link to our
interview. The MAGA Boyz have launched a new crypto-based podcast. Click

We want to wish all who celebrate a blessed Passover. May this
week of reflection on freedom and salvation bring peace, hope, and
meaningful time with loved ones.

Lastly, we want to wish everyone a
blessed and meaningful Palm Sunday. As Holy Week begins, may it be a
time of renewal, hope, and peace for all.

May God continue to bless our nation. I
look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan
