As a former enlisted Marine, I think I can speak with some authority on how the grunts feel about a few things.

Something they absolutely hate is when they get forced to have lunch with some VIP that wants to show how tough they are.

Something else they hate is parades. A waste of a perfectly good Saturday, in uniform, marching in formation.

So, logically, that’s what Trump wants to make them do. He wants a big military parade in Washington, DC for his birthday. He wants it paid for by taxpayers. And he wants everyone to see how big and tough he is, because he is the most insecure person to ever occupy the White House.

This is an absolute joke, but it goes beyond that. When you join the military you swear an oath to the Constitution. The president is the Commander in Chief, but your job is to defend the country and our democracy. We don’t do these kinds of parades in the United States.

They do it elsewhere, though. You know who else loved big military parades to fluff their ego? Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin, just to name a few. North Korea and China are big on them as well.

Trump’s surrounded by yes men these days, and if he wants this parade he’s going to do whatever he can to get it. But we don’t have to sit here and take that. You can be sure that I am going to do whatever I can to gum up the works on this.

Trump’s doing enough to make himself a king, and he shouldn’t get a parade for it.

Let’s keep it up, folks. I ain’t done yet.
