Email from 40 Days for Life Abortion industry is collapsing John, We end the Lenten 40 Days for Life campaign where we began it: with more abortion facilities closing in abortion-friendly states. This week, Planned Parenthood announced plans to shut down an abortion facility in St. Johnsbury, VERMONT! If you're keeping score, that means this 40 Days for Life campaign has seen abortion center closures announced or confirmed in Illinois, New York, Michigan, California, and now Vermont. All at a time when we were told mass numbers of women would be fleeing pro-life states to end their pregnancies in abortion sanctuary states. Connie is leading the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign in St. Johnsbury. When she became pregnant several decades ago, her boyfriend gave her $100 and told her to get an abortion. "But that was never an option for me," she said. "I know it's the shedding of innocent blood." Now she's leading a vigil to help other vulnerable women--and her prayers for the closure of the abortion facility have been answered after just one campaign! Salem, Oregon A couple of young women stole one of Tammi's signs as well as four small crosses that were staked into the ground. "I prayed and I asked God to touch their hearts, their consciences," Tammi said. And He did! Just 20 minutes later, the thieves returned with Tammi's materials, giving Tammi the opportunity to share her purpose in praying and offering help to vulnerable women. "After we stole your signs, you're so sweet!" one of the women said to her. "God answers prayer!" Tammy said. "Praise the Lord!" Bangor, Maine Abortion supporters showed up to protest Nichole's vigil in Bangor. It backfired. "It's a blessing in disguise because it only draws more eyes to why we're here," she said. One woman confronted vigil participants because she was hurting from a past abortion, so a pastor came to redirect her anger into prayer. "I'm pleased to share [that] she left with information about abortion recovery classes and some homemade peanut brittle," Nichole said. West Palm Beach, Florida The West Palm Beach campaign received a visit from Bishop Joseph Strickland, who led powerful prayers for 90 minutes and then blessed every attendee. "We need to be aware of what abortion really is and help our brothers and sisters--in love always--come to understand more clearly that life is sacred from conception to natural death," Bishop Strickland exhorted 40 Days for Life participants. "Prayer Warriors in the crowd had tears in their eyes," said Willy from the West Palm Beach leadership team. "He made me cry as well." Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. --Matthew 28:19-20 God, you have given me more than I could possibly ask. Help me never stray from your presence, for it is you whom I long to share with everyone I encounter. Show your face through my humility, direct my steps, and let every word I speak be from you. You ascended to Heaven not to abandon us but to be with us. You sent the Holy Spirit to guide our actions. As we conclude this 40-day fast, pour forth your grace on us to carry your light to the ends of the world. Amen.
