Today is World Oceans Day.

Last year, Washington state conservation groups sued the Trump Administration to protect the resident orca whale population in our South Sound. Luckily they were able to force a victory. But I have to be honest: without that suit, Trump would never have put our orcas first.

As your next member of Congress, I promise I’ll stay vigilant in defending the South Sound and the creatures that call it home -- every single day.

To celebrate World Oceans Day, will you sign this petition to join me in standing up to Trump? We can build on last year’s legal victory and continue to protect the South Sound’s resident orca population.

Add your name

When I worked for Congressman Denny Heck, I played a key role in helping him co-found the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus in 2013. The increased visibility our office brought to the needs of the Sound helped us secure over $25 million in annual federal funding for recovery projects, including habitat restoration for our native salmon runs and stormwater runoff mitigation.

It would mean a lot to me as someone who calls the Sound home, if you could add your name in support of our efforts to turn the tide on Trump’s reckless disregard for our environment. Can I count on you?

Thanks in advance,

Phil Gardner
