At 9:30am on April 9th, Donald Trump posted “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT” on his social media platform.
Just hours later, he announced a 90-day pause on additional trade tariffs on most countries, except China.
The markets rallied instantly. DJT stock— Trump’s own company —spiked.
If people who knew ahead of time that he would pause some tariffs traded stocks, they likely broke the law—that’s insider trading, plain and simple—and it’s illegal.
Time and again, politicians and insiders are playing by different rules. That’s got to change.
Congress has to investigate who knew that Donald Trump would pause tariffs before it became public and corruptly traded on that insider information—and we need to ban insider trading in Congress.
