Find out what Congressman Ken Calvert is working on for Riverside County and the people of the 41st Congressional District

I voted this week along with a majority of the House of Representatives to pass the budget resolution which moves us one step closer to preventing a massive tax increase on American families and job creators. The last thing Riverside County families can afford is a huge tax increase, which is exactly what will happen if Congress fails to extend the tax cuts that are expiring this year. In addition to increasing disposable income, Republicans intend to use the reconciliation process to enhance our national security by providing critical resources to equip our military and secure the southern border.
 
FACT CHECK: Don’t be misled about this budget process – nothing approved by the House this week changes any benefits for our safety net programs, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ benefits.

Free and fair elections provide the foundation for our democracy. Earlier this week, I voted for the SAVE Act to require states to verify people are U.S. citizens when they register to vote. This is a commonsense step to protect the integrity of our elections, which is why polls show there is strong bipartisan support for it.
