After ending the first quarter of 2025 on a high note (we reached our quarterly fundraising goal, thanks to this team of grassroots supporters!), Jared has been hard at work and we’re excited to give you an update on what he has been up to in Washington.
UNION RIGHTS:
Jared introduced bipartisan legislation in Congress to repeal President Trump’’s executive order restricting collective bargaining for federal workers. Jared will always stand with working families and support workers’ rights to join a union.
BUDGET VOTE:
Jared voted against the GOP’s reckless budget resolution that contained massive cuts to healthcare while funding lopsided tax breaks for the wealthy and adding trillions of dollars in new debt. He believes there is a better way forward by targeting tax cuts to working families without cutting healthcare and adding to the deficit.
MUSEUMS & LIBRARIES:
Jared is speaking out against the dismantling of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which provides support for Maine libraries and museums including early literacy programs, STEM education, high-speed internet access, and job training resources.
VETERANS:
Jared is standing up for his fellow veterans and joining with Senator Angus King to demand answers after mass layoffs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, including seven at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta.
Jared will continue standing up and fighting for you. We know that none of this would have been possible without your continued support. We’re so grateful to have you on our team.
