Since 1975, PopEd has provided memorable, standards-aligned lesson plans and activities, such as simulations, cooperative challenges, and debates. PopEd inspires students to tackle a variety of real-world problems and to become positively engaged members of their communities. Our top-notch facilitators train over 10,000 K-12 educators annually in Northern America through interactive workshops.
Over just the last 10 years, PopEd has:
* Trained nearly 117,000 educators through 6,306 Population Education workshops and webinars;
* Held pre-service workshops on 500 college and university campuses around the United States and Canada;
* Introduced over 30 million K-12 students to population concepts through fun and educational classroom activities.
We also run a popular World of 8 Billion [[link removed]] student video contest each year. More than 4,600 students from 67 countries and 45 U.S. states and D.C. participated during the 2024/2025 school year. Students submit short films that challenge them—and us!—to think critically about population issues while exploring themes that connect back to population trends and dynamics.
