Republicans in the House just narrowly passed a budget plan that would balloon the deficit and deeply cut programs that Western Pennsylvanians rely on—all to gift $7 billion in tax giveaways to huge corporations and billionaires.

It's a cruel, fiscally reckless grift, and I voted 'no.'

The GOP is on a disastrous debt-ridden mission to gut the programs that serve everyday people, all while fattening the pockets of the ultra-rich. We’re already seeing the pain, and it's only going to get worse if we don’t fight back.

The House budget is nothing short of a disaster.

It targets $880 billion in cuts from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act—the largest cuts to Medicaid in American history.

And it would cut at least $230 billion in cuts to food assistance programs such as SNAP.

Let’s be clear John, House Republicans are taking taxpayer dollars from essential programs to fund tax handouts for billionaires and big corporations.

This is money that should be used to support our communities, not line the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.
