Update From Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07):
As a Member of the Ways and Means Committee, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has been on the front lines for reviewing the provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that are scheduled to expire this year. The recent passage of the House Budget Committee's resolution unlocked the first step to the reconciliation process that will balance spending cuts with holding the line on pro-growth tax policies. The Ways and Means committee is actively working with the White House to develop legislation that will extend many of the tax cuts families and businesses rely upon.
The Congresswoman is also working to support rural America and Minnesota’s farm families. She recently reintroduced the Investing in Rural America Act to cut red tape and bring capital investment to rural communities for essential facilities like hospitals, childcare centers, and senior care. As a cosponsor of the Repeal the Death Tax Act, she is committed to protecting family-owned farms and businesses from burdensome federal taxes.
Congresswoman Fischbach also serves on the Rules Committee, which ensures that she sees every bill before it arrives on the House floor. From this position, she can apply western Minnesota's common sense and conservative values to legislation in Washington. The Congresswoman supports President Trump’s vision for the United States: securing the borders, cutting regulations and wasteful spending, ensuring a strong energy policy, and restoring decency. She remains committed to delivering real results for western Minnesota and keeping rural America the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
